Responsibilities

The Henry Ford Neuroscience Institute oversees neurological diseases that can impact the brain, spine, spinal cord, muscles, nerves, balance, speech and other senses. With more than 1,000 types of neurological diseases, specialization is vital for a correct diagnosis and treatment. To ensure the best care approach for each patient, teams of expert physicians meet regularly in Multidisciplinary Case Review Boards for patients seeking first or second opinions of the most complex conditions.

This Behavioral Neurologist will work at the newest of the Henry Ford Health System Hospitals - Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. This is a busy academic clinical position working with a Baldridge Award winning health system teaching residents and medical students, sharing on-call (4-12 weeks a year)with colleagues and being a member of one of the nation's largest medical groups - the Henry Ford Medical Group. Teaching is required of residents and participation in inpatient rounding.

Qualifications

Physician applicants must have graduated from a medical school program accredited by: (1) the Liaison Committee on Medical Education which is sponsored by the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges, or (2) the Canadian Medical Association; or a College of Osteopathic Medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association; or have successfully passed the ECFMG or equivalent qualifying examination.

Fellowship training is required.The applicant must have completed an ACGME or AOA approved Neurology residency program, and be Board eligible or certified in his/her specialty. Regretably, we cannot support J1 waivers at this time.
