About the Department: Henry Ford Eastside Cardiovascular - Roseville offers a wide range of diagnostic cardiac imaging and tests close to home. Our care team works with you to help prevent heart attack or stroke, and manage high blood pressure, high cholesterol and irregular heartbeats. We specialize in caring for many heart conditions, including AFib, congestive heart failure, structural heart and valve care, peripheral artery disease, and coronary artery blockages.

Role Overview: As a Medical Assistant, you play a vital role in delivering quality and compassionate patient care. You will work under the direct supervision of providers and nursing leadership, performing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Your efforts ensure a seamless and supportive experience for both patients and healthcare providers, making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community.

What You Will Do:

• Greet and escort patients to the exam room, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience.
• Obtain and document accurate medical histories from patients.
• Measure and record vital signs, contributing to comprehensive patient assessments.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, assisting providers during these processes.
• Perform a variety of clinical tasks to support ambulatory patient care.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.
