The Post-Anesthesia (or Recovery Room) is a perioperative department within Surgical Services.  Nurses in this specialty critically evaluate and stabilize patients emerging from anesthesia post-surgery through continuous monitoring.  

Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse at Henry Ford Health, you will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and their families. Your role is vital in ensuring effective communication within the healthcare team and finding solutions to meet patient goals.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families.
  • Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 36 hours/4 days per week, Occasional on call/weekend shift.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE REQUIRED:

  • Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • Health care provider certification (BCLS).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • ICU, ER, Pre Op or PACU experience preferred.
