Get to Know the Leader: Crystal Bolash

Crystal Bolash is a remarkable nursing leader who currently oversees the 5th Floor Med Surg Unit at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital—a 44-bed preferred hospice unit. Her journey with Henry Ford Health began in 2007 as a student aspiring to become a Nurse Assistant. She worked in that role while completing her nursing education and officially became a Registered Nurse in 2014. After five years as an RN, she accepted an Assistant Nurse Manager position, and in 2021, she stepped into her current leadership role.

With 15 of her 17 years at Henry Ford spent on the 5th Floor Med Surg Unit, Crystal describes the team as more of a family than anything else. She values the community hospital atmosphere, where familiar faces and strong relationships foster a collaborative environment.

Crystal appreciates the culture at Henry Ford Wyandotte—one that embraces change as a pathway to new opportunities and improved patient care. As she puts it, “We’re Wyandotte. Why not?” Her time with Henry Ford has not only shaped her professionally but has also helped her grow personally.

Outside of work, Crystal is an avid pickleball player. She recently celebrated 20 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart and is a proud mother of two daughters and grandmother to three grandbabies.
