Team member Spotlight: Quantrelle Shah

For nearly 15 years, Quantrelle has dedicated his career to protecting people—whether at bustling shopping centers, alongside public officials, or working with partner agencies. Seven months ago, he brought that wealth of experience to Henry Ford Southfield, where he quickly discovered that even seasoned professionals can grow. “𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑙𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑑 𝑢𝑝,” he shares.

As part of the midnight security team, Quantrelle plays a vital role in creating a safe and welcoming environment. From greeting visitors and screening belongings to patrolling the large campus, he ensures patients, families, and staff feel secure at every step. “𝑂𝑛 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠 𝑤𝑒’𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑠𝑒𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐼 𝑡𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠𝑙𝑦,” he says.

For Quantrelle, the work is deeply personal. Having called the community home for more than 13 years, he serves the very neighbors, friends, and families who have also cared for him and his loved ones. “𝐼 𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑢𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝐼 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑒, 𝑠𝑜 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑓𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑙. 𝐵𝑒𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎 𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑦, 𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑙𝑦 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑜𝑛 𝑎 𝑡𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑛𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡—𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡’𝑠 𝑓𝑢𝑒𝑙 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑒.”

What stands out most to him about Henry Ford Health is the culture of compassion and community. “𝑇ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑜𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑖𝑠 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑏𝑜𝑟ℎ𝑜𝑜𝑑, 𝑛𝑜 𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑎𝑤𝑎𝑦, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑦 𝑠𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑣𝑢𝑙𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑒—𝑟𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎 𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑟𝑡 𝑜𝑟 𝑎 𝑏𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑒𝑎𝑡 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑖𝑡’𝑠 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑𝑒𝑑.” He also credits the organization’s top-notch training and his colleagues’ deep sense of care as both surprising and inspiring.

Outside of work, he is a familiar face in the community—having participated in local theater, sports, and even some modeling. He now lives within walking distance of the hospital where both he and his parents receive care.
